They don’t seem to be suffering from any known ailments…

There is a pretty good chance that you have one of these in your home already. Many moms use these during pregnancy, and certainly after birth to get back in shape. But if not, they can be purchased for about 10-15 bucks almost anywhere.

The reason we dads need these is simple – our sanity. And of course, our baby’s happiness.

When I take my two month old son Jackson in my arms as he begins to melt down in infant frustration, walk confidently over to the Swiss ball, sit down on it and begin to bounce… something magical happens! It’s like the fuss switch has been instantly turned off. I’m talking IMMEDIATE results!

As if that weren’t enough, these are actually great exercise tools for dads, too. Check out this site, for example:

I am writing this with my two month old son wrapped to my torso, sleeping peacefully, his sweet head on my chest. If that wasn’t enough, I also look like some kind of kool Obi-Wan Kenobi Jedi!

The Moby Wrap is a comfortable, versatile way to transport your child, and a sure way to calm a fussy kid. It is intended for kids from preemie to about 35 pounds.

As a dad, it helps create a close, intimate bond that can get lost with other carriers, especially strollers.

For what it’s worth, my wife says it’s also a chick magnet – seeing a man with his baby strapped to his body is apparently some kind of “hunkifier”. And although that department is happily satisfied, it’s always nice to be a hit with the ladies…
